The concrete block has grooves (3, 4) on top and bottom surfaces. A groove cross-section matches half the cross-section of a connecting wedge key (5). A groove has a triangular notch cross-section and the wedge keys have square cross-section. The grooves are arranged in a criss-cross pattern. This ensures that the blocks are not able to slide relative to each other when subject to lateral forces. The vertical side faces of the blocks can also have grooves, the vertical edges being chamfered to form a groove after assembly.
|
