As illustrated the tube is formed from two rubberized parallel cord plies 40, 42, the cords of one ply crossing those of the other and each cord making an angle of between 35 and 45 degrees with the midcircumferential plane of the tube when the latter is deflated. Valve 30 attached to the tube enables separate inflation of the tyre cavity 22 and the tube with the latter being inflated to between 2 and 10 lbs./sq. inch higher than the pressure in cavity 22. Alternatively to valve 30, separate inflating valves for the cavity and the tube may be provided The cords are preferably nylon or polyester. |
