SEAMBUSTING APPARATUS AND METHOD

The edge flaps formed on the inside of a stitched seam of e.g. a garment are folded back by locating the seam over a support table having a convex face, and running an iron having a concave face, along the seam so that the edge flaps are folded back through an angle of greater than 180 degrees. The leading end of the ironis pointed to allow it to be initially inserted between the edge flaps and progressively fold them back. The edge flaps are ironed back flat without marking the front face of the fabric adjacent the seam.
