1453431 Sheet forming apparatus BELLAPLAST GmbH 24 Oot 1973 [19 Dec 1972] 49607/73 Heading B5A Sheet forming apparatus includes a forming station 157 having at least one linearly movable tool holder 105, or 106, a feed means 152 for feeding material to the station 157, and a drive means 101 arranged to move the holder and the feed means in synchronism, which drive is adjustable to enable the stroke of the holder to be adjusted in dependence on the size of articles to be formed by means of cams 116, 117, which rock a lever 102 connected by an adjustable link 110 and a lift lever 109 to lower tool holder 105. Lever 109 also comprises a second arm (121), Fig. 3, not shown, connected by a link (112) to upper tool holder 106. Variation of the stroke of holders 105 and 106 can be made by a rotatably adjustable eccentric pivot (113), (114), Fig. 2, on the link 110, or by an arcuate slot (113C), Fig. 10, not shown. A link 111 is also adjustable in length. Dampers 126, e.g. of hydraulic or pneumatic construction, reduce operational shocks in the apparatus. Drive 101 also has an intermittent cam drive (153), (154), Fig. 8, not shown, to drive feed 152 via chain 151. In operation, a plastics sheet is fed from an extruder 156 to stabilizing rollers 158. The sheet is then fed to motion compensating rollers 165 where roller 166 can move vertically to accommodate the intermittent feed 152. The apparatus also includes a temperature compensation station 170. |
