A tool holder assembly clamps an insert 3 by moving a screw 2 into a space 8 such that a pressure medium forces a piston 7 against a resilient element 6: this movement forces a lever 4 to tilt about its centre portion in a bore 17 so that the insert 3 is held by frictional engagement against the back upright wall of a recess 16. The pressure medium is preferably a plastics composition such as polyvinyl chloride. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 1,106,374. |
