APPARATUS FOR OPEN-END SPINNING OF FIBRES

The apparatus contains a stationary spinning chamber (4) which is connected via a feed channel (3) to a toothed drum (2) for the loosening and supply of fibres. An air-suction system is connected to the bottom of the spinning chamber (4). The feed channel (3) has the form of a rectangular trapezium in longitudinal section. The parallel side (5) of the feed channel is adjacent to the drum (2) for loosening and supplying the fibres, whilst the inclined side (6) of the feed channel confronts the bottom of the spinning chamber (4). The feed channel is designed in such a way that a fibre movement directed towards the discharge side for the yarn is possible without impairing the fibre orientation. In this way, the breaking frequency of the yarn is reduced and the working capacity of this apparatus is increased.
