The protection shell for spectacles is of the tyre which can be brought back onto the spectacle frame using a fastener whiih can be pinched between the internal edge of a circle of the frame and the corresponding lens. The fastener may comprises two small tongues (24) these being carried at the extremities of the protection shell (20). The shell (20) is in the form of a crescent, its ends being drawn together elastically. The shell is typically made of a synthetic material or a metal. The two halves of the shell are mirror images of one another about the centre-line.
