The sampling flask (1) is made from plastics and comprises a body with an extended neck (31). This is cut to take a sample, the body being compressed to suck up the milk. Immediately afterwards, the neck is sealed and marked for identification. This is done by slipping a metal or plastics sleeve (45) over the neck down to its base, and crimping it with a pair of special pliers. This deforms the sleeve and, at the same time, impresses the identification marks indelibly in its surface. The end of the extended neck is also curled and twisted (46) to complete the sealing process.
|
