<p>Appts. for carrying out alpha-ray autoradiography of test pieces, machined and polished inside a glove box, coated with a synthetic resin, and contg. for example particles of Pu, includes the glove box, which has an opening, closed with a replaceable elastic Mylar (RTM) sheet. Inside the box is a receiver for the test piece, following the latter to contact the sheet in the planar condition and in a blockable manner. Outside the box, above the opening, is mounted above the opening a clip, holding the alpha-sensitive film, and a mobile device under temporary control, with the aid of which the film can be rapidly contacted with the Mylar sheet during the exposure, and can be removed from the location after exposure automatically and developed in the usual way. The operating time is much less than for prior art, and is safer for personnel. Used to examine the distribution of Pu particles in nuclear fuel rods.</p> |
