<p>A hand-operated, mechanical calculator is used for converting a quick test prothrombin time result automatically into a percentage reading of prothrombin rate. The calculator comprises a casing with window apertures. Rotation of external control knobs (6, 7) will bring setting values, e.g. quick test result, specific thromboplastin identity and plasma dilution rate, into view at appropriate apertures. As a result, the required percentage reading appears automatically at another aperture. The figures which appear at the apertures are pef. marked on rotary cylinders or on endless bands. The required percentage reading pref. appears simultaneously with entering the quick test result.</p> |
