<p>The liquid discharge device may be applied to the drainage of wash liquors from domestic washing machines. The device comprises a tube connected to the outlet pipe of the machine at one end, and to the discharge conduit at the other by means of a flange joining. The tube is disposed coaxially within a second tube, closed by covers at its two ends, and has two siphon holes inserted near its two ends but within the covers. When the outlet pipe is fitted to a tube leading to the discharge conduit, if the capacity of the washing machine pump is greater than that of the discharge arrangements, there may be the risk of backflow, and possibly of overflow. On the other hand, where the outlet pipe is joined to a tube leading to the discharge conduit by means of a grooved nozzle, an air intake valve must necessarily be fitted, which increases the cost and provides a weak point, subject to wear and corrosion by the wash liquors. The device of the invention provides an improvement on known arrangements.</p> |
