Leather-hard rubber compositions comprising (1) 100 pts. natural or polyisoprene rubber (2) 50-150 pts. of a polyhalogenated plastic material, esp. PVC; (3) opt. 5-30 pts. of a rubbery plasticiser such as polyisobutylene and/or (4) opt. 5-30 pts. of a harder rubber, e.g. a styrene/butadiene rubber with a high styrene content. Products have hardness similar to leather, do not become brittle in use and have excellent chemical resistance. Esp. for lining tubes and vessels for resistance to acids. |
