Zoom lens holder sets focal length and image sharpness for front and rear lens groups. During continuous adjustment of the focal length, the two lens groups are diaplced relative to each other in an axial direction. During focusing only the front lens group is displaced in an axial direction. The holder comprises a number of rings. A fixed ring surrounds the zoon lens system. Its axis of symmetry coincides with the optical axis of the zoom lens system. The ring comprises a wedge-shaped groove which is aligned in an axial direction.
