A pivot bearing is positioned on each side of the bed and located in the base area of the cupboard and in the front end area of the bed. The bed may be swivelled round the common axis of the bearing with brake springs being fitted and located within the bed support used to equalise the at least one part of the weight of the bed varying in accordance with the swivel angle. A rod (6) is attached in a non-rotating manner on the swivel axis in the area outside the bed support and in a plane on which the swivel axis stands vertically. The rod is also non-turnably attached to the cupboard (1) whilst remaining detachable and the rod may be locked against rotation relative to the bed support when the bed is swivelled out.
