Ski boot for ski racing and comfortable walking - has heel with height adjustment design to meet both requirements

The ski boot is provided with rigid uppers and sole suitable for alpine ski racing. To increase the comfort when wearing the boot for normal walking the height of the heel can be adjusted, at least in part. For skiing at least one part of the underneath of the heel (2) which serves as the tread surface can be raised relative to the plane of the boot base (9) which is determined by the ball area of the sole when fitted to skis. For easy adjustment the boot heel (2) can comprise an upper (4) and lower part (5) whereupon the lower part can be removed when the boot is not used for skiing. This lower part is pref, hinged to the upper part along the front edge and when not required can be swivelled round to fit into the space beneath the instep.
