Phase shift angle measuring circuit - converts input signals into rectangular voltage and applies to two differential amplifiers

The circuit measures the phase angle between two electric signals, and has pulse shaper stages for derivation of rectangular voltages from the input signals. A differential stage follows the pulse shaper stages and is itself followed by a rectifier. The pulse shaper stages are connected to inverting inputs of the differential amplifiers (V1, V2) to which the input signals (U1, U2) are also applied. Output voltages (U3, U4) of the amplifiers are applied through differentiating circuits (C1, R3; C2, R4) to a further differential amplifier (V3), whose output voltage (U7), proportional to the phase shift angle between the input signals (U1, U2), is applied to its non-inverting input.
