Coffee pot especially for use in an electric coffee machine with a lid fitted with a closable coffee inlet. The lid (20) includes an upper and a lower lid portion (22) which are movable relative to each other and which form closures for the coffee inlet (26, 42) and the pouring lip (18). The inlet is formed by inlet openings which are positioned offset or movable to an offset position relative to each other in both lid casings through a movement by the two sections relative to the other, which has the effect of closing the inlet opening. The vertical distance of the two sections from each other is adjustable through inclined guide tracks.
