<p>A Roller-shaped wire brush is half enclosed in a housing in which it is free to rotate. When lowered over the side of a moving ship, the brush is set in rotation by the movement of the water. Being suspended in contact with the side or bottom of the ship, the rotating brush cleans the surface of the hull, removing barnacles and other marine growth. The brush is moved from time to time. The method facilitates cleaning during a voyage, not possible by other means.</p> |
