The flat solar heat collector has an absorber plate through which pipes contg. a fluid to be heated pass, and heat-insulated on the rear side, in a box-shaped housing covered by one or more panes of glass permeable to the sunrays. The space between the absorber plate and the pane can be connected to a conduit for heated air. There can also be a further space between the absorber plate and the insulation at the rear, and which can be connected to the conduit. The design gives simple protection against frost damage to the pipes in winter.
