1,243,147. Pressure sensitive adhesive tape. JOHNSON & JOHNSON. 14 April, 1969 [12 April, 1968], No. 19014/69. Heading B2E. A pressure sensitive adhesive tape comprises a flexible backing and an adhesive coating which comprises an elastomeric, thermoplastic block polymer A-B-A and tackifier resin which is preferably present in amount of 25-125 parts by wt of total elastomers. A-B-A is a polymer wherein block B is a homo- or copolymer of isoprene and the blocks A, which constitute 10-20% of the polymer, are vinyl arene polymers e.g. styrene and preferably have a glass transition temperature above 25‹C and MW of at least 7000. The adhesive may also contain a minor amount of a diene elastomer and 2-50 parts wt of the total elastomers of a curing agent e.g. aldehyde resin. Accelerators, antioxidants, heat stabilisers, U.V. absorbers pigments and fillers may be incorporated. |
