<p>PURPOSE: To make it possible to desorb iodine by passing nitrous acid liquid to a desorption tank via a plurality of compartments communicating via orifices under liquid phase and forming nitrous acid by bubbling by blowing nitrous gas in the tank. CONSTITUTION: A desorption tank 1 has a plurality of compartments 7, 9, 11, 13, 15 communicating with each other. Electrodes 43, 45, 47 for measuring contained liquid phase nitrous acid concentration are provided in the compartments 9, 11, 13 of the centers, tube array systems 37 having orifices are formed at the lower parts of the compartments 9, 11, 13, iodine with desorption of iodine and vapor phase from the tank 1 is discharged, and then NOX vapor is continuously blown into the solution via the orifices to generate bubbles of the nitrous gas, thereby generating nitrous acid. Thus, the entire iodine in the fuel element can be desorbed.</p> |
