PURPOSE:To stably electrify toner and to stably supply the electrified toner to a photosensitive body by constituting a developing roll in such a way that an elastic layer with volume resistivity, a thermoplastic resin layer and current regulating fablic layer with specific resistance are laminated in that order on the outer periphery of a rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:The one-component toner is deposited and carried on the surface of the developing roll disposed either in contact with or close to the photosensitive body to make the toner stuck to an electrostatic latent image formed on the photosensitive body and developing is performed. The developing roll is constituted in such a way that the elastic layer 2 with volume specific resistivity not more than 10<7>OMEGAcm, the thermoplastic resin layer 3 where polyalkylene ether copolymers are dispersed as a current regulating substance and the current regulating fabric layer 4 of a specific resistance ranging from 10<2> to 10<9>OMEGAcm are laminated in that order on the outer periphery of the conductive metallic core as the rotary shaft. With the constitution, the developing roll, depositing and carrying one-component toner, superior in the gradation of an image and in the service life of an organic photosensitive body without producing any fogging, is realized. |
