The sealing element is intended for a trochoidal rotary piston unit containing a trochoid piston in a housing having two symmetric trochoid envelope wall portions at the intersection of which there is a seal in the housing in contact with the piston. The sealing elements at the intersections consist of sealing rollers carried in bearings, with radius (r), the roller axes coinciding with the intersections (S) of the original housing trochoids (1, 2). The envelope wall portions (4, 10) are consequently displaced inwards from the original trochoids by an amount (r) and the outer dimension (3) of the piston is correspondingly reduced. Each roller may be held in sealing cap (9) with internal helical grooves (8) which pump the lubricant or coolant in axial direction.
