The inner core may be made from a rigid polyurethane foam and the outer body of a flexible polyurethane foam, the skin being formed integrally with the outer body with the surface features of the ball moulded into the skin. The core may be moulded in a two - part - spherical mould and provided with a radially disposed pin by means of which the finished core may be clamped in position in a second, two - part spherical mould in which the outer body is cast by varying the ratio of sorbitol polyether polyol to the glycerol polyether polyol used to produce the core the bounce characteristics of the ball can be altered.
