PURPOSE:To obtain an over head projector image free from the turbidity of color by a method wherein a sublimable thermal transfer recording medium provided with an ink layer containing a sublimable dye in an undissolved particle form is overlapped on a transparent image receiving sheet, the ink layer is thermally transferred, and a transferred image surface is thermally smoothened. CONSTITUTION:A sublimable thermal transfer recording medium 4 provided with an ink layer containing a sublimable dye in an undissolved particle form is overlapped on a transparent image receiving sheet 1, the ink layer is thermally transferred by a thermal head 5, and a transferred image surface on the image receiving sheet 1 is thermally smoothened by a heat roller 3. In the thermally smoothing treatment, the surface is depressed by the heat roller 3, a heat belt, or a heat resistant film having surface properties of a glossiness of pref. Gs (60 deg.C) >=50% to be heated to above the thermal deforming temp. of the image receiving layer, whereby the irregularities of the surface of the image receiving layer is smoothened. Scattering of light and color turbidity can be improved by applying the thermally smoothing treatment to the transferred image surface with irregularities. |
