<p>A synthetic resin prod. contains, mixed with the resin, a pharmaceutical (I) which in the course of time comes to the surface. (I) may come to the surface by erosion of the resin itself, or an additive may be included to give the resin the required erosion characteristics. Specified resins are PVC, polyurethane, polyethylene, polypropylene, EVA, nylon, acrylics or polystyrene and may be foamed or unfoamed. (I) are esp. fungicides, medicines for treating skin diseases, drying agents, deodorants, odour suppressants, aromatising cpds. and/or absorbants, most pref. fungicides. For use in shaped articles, socks, shoe inserts, filaments, fibres, food packing films etc. (I) are released slowly over a long period.</p> |
