Wire butt-welding - by melting under arc between clamps with recesses for forming uniform weld bead

Wires and/or stranded wire both welded by gripping the material in clamps that have recesses on the side facing the welding position corresp in shape and size to weld bead to be produced. The clamps are pressed together after the material ends are melted by the arc until the material flows into the recesses. Welding process is independent of material conductivity and gives accurately reproducible weld beads.
