1,151,208. Crank-shafts. TATRA, NARODNI PODNIK. 9 Aug., 1966, [17 Sept., 1965] No. 35607/66. Heading F2U. To increase rigidity, the front and rear portions of a built-up crank-shaft, for I.C. engines, in which the crankwebs 3, 5 are formed with annular surfaces journalled in large diameter main roller bearings 6, each consist of a single unit comprising an auxiliary central pin 2, a front, or rear, main bearing journal 3 and a crank-pin 4, each unit terminating at a joint face of a further, divided, crankweb 5, to which the intermediate or centre unit 7, 8, which in Fig. 3 (not shown) may also be formed in one piece, is secured by bolts 9, 10. The front and rear main roller bearings 6 are retained on the crankwebs by lock-rings 14, the intermediate main bearings being positioned on the divided crankwebs before bolting together. In the one piece intermediate unit, Fig. 3 (not shown), the centre main bearing (6<SP>1</SP>) has no inner roll, the rollers running direct on the annular crankweb (15). |
