The safety mechanism is used in automatically closing sliding doors. A flexible profile is arranged on the sliding door contact edge, and a door opening signal is generated when this flexible profile is deformed or displaced in a direction deviating from that of the connecting edge. Parallel to the profile (11) runs the light beam (12) of a photosensitive barrier. This light beam is interrupted when the profile is deformed or displaced. The profile is made from flexible material such as rubber and has a continuous internal channel (13) for the light beam. The channel is designed so that its cross section form or size is changed on deformation. |
