<p>The digital controller regulates the heating power of a heating installation, esp. a furnace. It is designed to reduce the supply of heating power before the desired lamp is reached so as to avoid a temp. overswing. The desired temp. is held in a store and transferred to a counter each time an on pulse occurs. The switch-on pulse train and a monitor pulse train have equal frequency but are 180 deg. out of phase. A measurement pulse signal is fed to the counter with frequency dependent on a measurement value but higher than the switching frequency. The measurement pulses are checked against the desired value between switching pulses to determine the heater duty cycle or switch-off.</p> |
