Isoxazolyl deriv. of formula (I) are new: (R = H, halo, alkyl or alkylthio R1 = alkyl, R2 = alkyl, alkoxy, alkylthio, monoalkylamino or phenyl. X = O or S). They are prepd. by reacting R1O(R2)P(X)Hal with the appropriate 5-hydroxyisoxazole deriv. (I) are insecticides more effective than known cpds. of similar structure. They have low toxicity towards plants and warm-blooded animals and are useful in agriculture, veterinary medicine, for protection of stored goods and in hygienic applications. Residual activity on wood and clay is excellent and they are stable on white-washed surfaces. In an example O,O-diethyl, O-(3-tert. butylisoxazol-5-yl)thionophosphate was prepd. from O,O-diethyl-thionophosphoryl chloride and 3-tert. butyl-4-hydroxy-isoxazole. |
