1282006 Reel container MINNESOTA MINING & MFG CO 27 Aug 1969 [28 Aug 1968] 42634/69 Heading B8P [Also in Division E2] The cover 14 of a dust-proof, reel container is releasably secured to the base 12 by rotating a handle 42 so that three cams 58 provided on the outer surface of a lower handle rim 56 outwardly bulge three inclined planes 65 provided on the inner surface of an expandable cup 60 to frictionally engage against and below the edge 28 of an apertured base inset 26. The handle comprising the lower rim 56 and an upper rim 44 stuck to a disc 50 is located within the cup 60 via rim grooves 57 and cup ribs 63, the cup 60 being fixed relative to the cover 14 via a flange 68, an outer rib 61 and flange notches (69, Fig. 2) which accommodate ears (31, Fig. 2) provided on a cover inset 30. The disc 50 is provided with a groove 51 accommodating a movement limiting abutment (33, Fig. 2) provided on inset 30 and with an aperture 53 through which indicia provided on inset 30 may be viewed. The container is provided with annular stocking ridges 15, 17, tape-cushioning rings 70, bottom dust cover 25 and a gasket ring 24. The cup flange 68 is provided with friction reducing ribs 67. |
