In X-ray apparatus permitting a quick change from viewing an X-ray image with a light amplifier to photographing the image, the pick-up screen 14 of the light amplifier 8, positioned beneath the object or patient 11 being X-rayed, is connected to the body of the amplifier by a light-tight bellows 15, and is displaced downwards by means interconnecting it with the carriage 4, supporting a cassette 5 with X-ray film 6, when the carriage is moved to the right to place the film in the position formerly occupied by the screen 14. As shown, the screen 14 is forced downwards by the action of an inclined guideway 13, fixed to the carriage, on a cam follower 12 fixed to the screen. In other embodiments, the screen is pivoted about an axis by the guide and cam follower (Fig. 4, not shown), or the bellows are replaced by telescopic shrouds (Fig. 3, not shown). The apparatus is provided with an anti-diffusion grid 7. |
