Flame and smoke-suppressant polymer compositions are described comprising a resinous polymer of vinyl chloride and a flame and smoke-suppressant amount of (1) AT LEAST ONE COMPOUND OF THE FORMULA <IMAGE> wherein R is C1 to C18 linear or branched alkyl and R1, R2 and R3 are the same or different and are hydrogen, C1 to C8 linear or branched alkyl or halogen; and (2) AN OXIDE, HYDROXIDE OR SALT OF IRON (III), zinc, or mixtures thereof.
