<p>1434565 Injection moulding of cabinets PHILIPS ELECTRONIC & ASSOCIATED INDUSTRIES Ltd 1 Oct 1973 [4 Oct 1972] 45770/73 Heading B5A A cabinet having walls made of synthetic plastics material covered with a decorative film is made by folding the film to form a sleeve (Fig. 2), arranging the film in a mould 6, 8 (Fig. 3) and injecting plastics material, at 7, against the inner side of the sleeve to bond therewith. The cabinet may be for a radio, TV or a loudspeaker. The margins 4 of the film are folded over at both ends of the sleeve, the corners being cut in such a way that the margins overlap in the corners. The film may be a laminated or non-laminated synthetic plastics material or a wood veneer covered with plastics material. The injected material may be polystyrene.</p> |
