A solution containing L-asparaginase is treated with a polyalkylene glycol and the precipitated L-asparaginase separated from the solution. Pref. polyalkylene is polyethylene-, polypropylene- or poly-1,4-dihydroxy-butane glycol, used in conc. up to 30% (5-30%). The pH of the solution is 4-11, at -5 to +25 deg.C. The polyalkylene glycol acts as selective precipitation agent.
