Detachable shelf wall attachment device - uses cylindrical cam to wedge shelves between supporting rods

The shelf (10) is supported on short cylindrical rods (13) which project at right angles from the wall. The rods (13) are arranged in groups of eight equally spaced around a circle. The space between adjacent rods (13) is greater than the thickness of the shelf (10) and enables the shelf to be clamped by a cam (15). The cam (15) has a bore which fits the rods (13) so that it can be rotated and clamp the shelf with its involute surface (17). The end face of the cam can have a diametral slot to enable it to be rotated with the edge of a coin thus obviating the need for any special tools to fix or remove the shelves.
