The refuse container consists of a rectangular shaped bag with an internal rigid lining. The bag is folded over the lining and held by a clip and carrying handle. The rigid lining is tapered and may be removed upwards when the bag is full. The disposal mechanism consists of a tray (15) mounted against the outside wall (E) of the house. The tray is connected to a lever mechanism (17). The shutter (16) is raised out of the way when the tray is tilted. The refuse may be compacted by lowering the ram (25) onto the refuse in the lower container (C).
