The insulating pin is inserted into the contact holes of a wall socket to seal it. It can prevent eg children from touching the live part when the socket is not in use. The pin has a longitudinal slot and it may be removed using a magnet if it is desired to bring the socket back into use. It may have a circular or rectangular cross-section. Several such pins may be removed from their sockets simultaneously using a special tool.
