The electrical appliance housing (10) is designed to be fitted into a recess. It has at its open end at least a pressure element (20) which extends transversely towards the exterior of the housing. The element (20) is designed to limit the engagement of the housing into the recess. The element (20) is detachable and is connected to the housing by a reduced area section (21). The housing (10) has also around its exterior several flexible ribs (27) which come into contact with the sides of the recess and press against the sides to hold the housing in the recess.
