The cooker oven has electric motor driven fan for circulating hot air. The oven has also means for pyrolytic cleaning. The electric motor is protected efficiently against damage by high temp. A control system ensures that the fan speed or the heating power is reduced at certain threshold temp. The drive motor (3) of the fan (8) has electrical resistor Rv for speed reduction. The resistor is operated directly or indirectly by a thermally actuated switch (S2). The parallel current flow path which bypasses the resistor accommodates the thermally actuated switch and its series connected manually operated switch (S1). The fan heating system is connected in series with the cooker oven heater at an oven threshold temp.
