Signal producer for function control on typewriter - has two interacting friction elements and releasable spring tension store

The unit for producing a perceptible signal for a function control of an operating element on e.g. an office machine such as a typewriter has a spring tension store which is tensioned by a relative rubbing movement between two friction elements. On attaining the functional position of the operating element the tension store is automatically and suddenly released by a corresponding shaping of the friction elements. The friction elements (e.g. 213, 214) are formed on a function limb (204) for working the operating element (201). The limb (204) has two elastic arms (205, 206) each with a lateral extension (213, 214) having a friction face (215, 216) which interacts with its opposing face (216, 215). During the restoring movement these friction faces are released from one another.
