Storage material for heat and mass transfer - is silica gel granules sprayed with adhesive on heat transfer foil

The storage material is used in rotary regenerative exchangers for heat and mass transfer between gas streams. The storage material used esp. for air supply or exhaust flow in air conditioned buildings, is more economical than the conventional asbestos based materials. The heat transfer surfaces consist of foils (11) woven fabric. These surfaces support or enclose silica gel granules (15) for forming mass transfer surfaces. The granules which can be held by an adhesive (13) on the foils (11), can be sprayed as mixture with adhesive on heat exchange surfaces. The amount of adhesive used in two to ten percent in total mixture.
