Reactor system for particulate, fluid or suspended material, of which at least a part is carbonaceous, has (1) a hot fluidised bed, (2) tubular reactor(s) passing through the bed to carry the particulate material, fluid or other suspended material, (3) means of sepg. gaseous liquid and solid components in the reaction prods. when they leave the tubular reactor(s), and (4) means of conveying (part of) the reaction prods. to the reactor in order to carry out the combustion. The process is esp. for use in closed reactor systems for carbonaceous materials in which (part of) the coke and/or prods. are used to fire in fludised bed. This system allows coal or similar material to be introduced as dry particles, or as pastes or slurries, and to be carbonised in a reactor passign through the bed. Only the resulting coke need then be injected into the bed for combustion. |
