The valve gear of an axial piston pump has a cylinder (6) bolted to the pump casing (1). The cylinder contains a piston (8) which can be moved axially by oil admitted to either end (9, 12) of it through connections (11, 16) in the ends of the cylinder. The piston (8) has helical ribs (30) leaving channels (31) between them. These ribs and channel open and close the communication between three ports (26, 27, 28) which control the flow of oil to the swashplate adjusting mechanism. A lever (22) attached to the piston projects into a slot (24) in the swashplate (5). When the piston is moved axially oil is admitted to move the swashplate. This turns the lever (22) which rotates the piston and thus moves the helical ribs to counteract the axial movement.
|
