Ski boot for long runs has elastic plastics e.g. polyamide, sole esp. with a forward extension of the sole whose width is at most that of the ski and which serves to fasten the boot to the ski by means of a binding. The sole has, in its forward section, >=1 strip-shaped, weakened, zone extending longitudinally between the zone of the ball of a wearer's foot and the joint. The sole is sufficiently flexible to facilitate lifting a ski (to which it is fastened by the binding) off the snow during a ski race, thus reducing a wearer's fatigue. At the same time it is transversely stable and resistant to torsional movement so that a skier's control of the ski is not impaired.
