Protective packing for video disc consists of a cover with an opening in the edge leading to hollow space which encloses a disc. A disc support (54) is accommodated in the hollow space and comprises a spine-like part (82) and a ring -shaped part with an opening. The opening in the ring-shaped part surrounds the disc (58) while the latter is held in the hollow space. The movement of the disc support (54) produces a corresponding movement of the disc (58). The spine-like part (82) extends into the opening (56) in the edge of the cover (52) when the disc support (54) is fully inserted int he cover (52).
