Display signals are formed by two transparent, laminated plastics strips, one of which faces an illumination source is tinted to correspond to the colour of the imprinted indicia and the other which carries the imprinted indicia is tinted grey and on the outer face whichh is viewed is provided with a roughened surface. Used for electronic control panels. Pref. both strips are made of a 0.5mm. thick polycarbonate and the rough surface of the grey tinted strip is produced during injection moulding.
