<p>The continuous strip material feed mechanism has a device to join the strip ends together and two roll frames spaced apart, each accommodating a roll of the material. The joining device (30) is movable to and fro between two positions near one or the other roll frames (S1, S2), and has one or more guide rollers (12, 22) for the strip (W1) pulled off each roll (1, 2). As the strip is being pulled off the one roll, the device can be moved close to the other, so as to join the leading edge of the strip from the latter to it, and to bring the strip actually in use to travel along a path convenient for the join to be made.</p> |
