The socket-outlet has sleeve contacts connectable to conductors connected to the mains. An insulating bridge slides sideways against spring pressure when contact pins are inserted into the sleeve sockets. The socket has conducting elements connecting sleeve contacts to the mains connections only when the contact pins are fully inserted into the sleeve contacts. Locking means are provided which lock the insulating bridge in its axial rest state when asymmetrical forces are applied to it, as a result of a single pin or a foreign body insertion.
